This is a safeguard investigation initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on July 1st 2009 based on the petition filed by Viglacera Float Glass Company and Vietnam Float Glass Company. Scope of investigation: Float glass (clear and tinted) with thickness equal or less than 12mm imported into Vietnam under HS codes 7005 29 90 00 and 7005 21 90 00. Conclusion of competent authority: On February 8th 2010, the Vietnam Competition Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the final report on the investigation. According to such report, the Vietnam Competition Authority determined that the application of safeguard measure on imports of float glass is inappropriate and the investigation was terminated with no safeguard measure imposed. On February 23rd 2010, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Decision No. 0809/QD-BCT on the Application of Safeguard Measures.
